Hope For Lola - Charity Match

Beer Albion will be hosting a charity match at the Furzebrake on the 25th May 2019, KO 15.00.

The day is dedicated to celebrating the achievements of this wonderful little girl, supported by her parents Chris and Becca and big brother Jack and sister Ava.

All are welcome and the day promises to be full of fun.

Here is a bit more on their story:

Lola Hope was born on the 2nd November 2018. Sadly she was born very poorly and was diagnosed with Edward’s Syndrome. Her Mum and Dad (Becca and Chris) wanted to not only share their story, so that more people are aware of Edward’s Syndrome but so that family and friends can celebrate the happiness and love that having Lola has given them.

For those who aren’t aware, Edward’s Syndrome (also known as Trisomy 18) is a rare but serious genetic condition that causes a wide range of severe medical problems. Sadly most babies die before birth and of those who survive birth 20-30% die within one month.

Lola is Chris and Becca’s little miracle and is, as this is written, almost 4 months old. She has astounded doctors and has amazingly been able to go home to be with her big brother, Jack and her big sister, Ava.

Chris and Becca have remained remarkably strong throughout and as a show of their strength are organising a Charity Football and Family event called “Hope for Lola”. This event will take place at the Furzebrake (Home of Beer Albion Football Club) on Saturday 25th May 2019. The aim of this event is to raise money for the Royal Devon & Exeter Neonatal Unit (NNU), without whom with their unrelenting care and compassion, Lola Hope may not have been here today.

The family are asking for your support to not only raise awareness of Edward’s Syndrome but to donate as generously as you can to give something back to the nurses and doctors who helped them to take Lola home and so that other parents can be given the same amazing support from the NNU that they have received.

Donations can be made via the Just Giving page (HTTPS://WWW.JUSTGIVING.COM/CROWDFUNDING/HOPE-FOR-LOLA) or by attending the Charity Football match and Family day (£5 entry fee on the gate or whatever you would like to donate), where there will be an auction of signed merchandise and a raffle with amazing donations.
