Martin Dawkins and family, wife Karen and daughter Lucy have been been coming to Beer for their holidays, from Nottingham, for many years. Martin was a keen football fan and had followed the 'Albion' from afar for a long time.

Sadly Martin passed away last year, Beer Albion Football Club and the regatta committee were each left some money from his will. His wish was for some of the money to be spent on a welcome sign at the Furzebrake. The regatta donated their money straight to the local councils fund for the Devon Air Ambulance landing site. Karen and Lucy were invited to perform the opening of the landing site at the field.
